About Instructor

I’ve been pole dancing for 15 years, and instructing for 13 years. I have learnt from some of the best pole dancers in the world and have been a part of pole dancing competitions as both a competitor and organiser for over 10 years, I’ve also got a degree in health & rehabilitation science & making sure that students are training safely is my biggest priority. I love pole dancing, it’s just about my favourite thing in the world. I love how much it’s taught me to love & appreciate my body & all the incredible things it can do, that it gives me a space to create and clear my head, and that it brings so much fun & joy into my life.

I love instructing even more than I love dancing – there’s not many things that make you feel as good as watching your students accomplish things they never thought possible, seeing them become more confident and grow to love this thing as much as I do!

What inspired you to become a pole instructor?

A pole dancer and friend that I admire very much asked me to instruct at a studio she was opening back in Canberra. I was so nervous but I loved pole dancing so much that I was so excited to be able to teach and hopefully make other people love it as much as I did. That was 13 years ago & I’ve never looked back! Pole dancing is by far my longest relationship 😂

Something that no-one would ever know about you? Or a fun fact.

I’m a mum of 2 beautiful kids. I have a 3 year old and a 5 month old. I pole danced all the way through both of my pregnancies – it’s made me appreciate my body so much more.

What do you do outside the pole studio – work or personal.

I’m a health care exec, a wife & a mum. It’s incredibly busy and sometimes stressful – pole allows me the most amazing outlet for some ‘me’ time.

Most inspiring person you have met and what inspires you about them?

I have a very close group of special people who have been my best friends for the better part of 20 years. They inspire me in so many different ways, whether it’s how accomplished they are in their career, that they’re a wonderful parent, how dedicated they are to their passions or that they’ve found a way to bring happiness into theirs & others lives. I’m lucky to be inspired by them.

What is your favorite quote?

You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.

If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

Before I was a mum, I’d say flying or something. Now I’m a mum, I’d love to have a superpower that would allow me to snap my fingers and change a nappy / stop a tantrum / make a glass of wine appear out of thin air LOL

What is it that you love about Achieve

The community and the incredible instructors. Achieve loves its members, and I love how supportive everyone is of each other. It’s like a big crazy dancing family. As a student (who is now quite picky after so long in the industry 😬😇), I also love the instructors. We are very lucky to learn from instructors who are dedicated, beautiful people inside & out whose first concern is the safety & joy of their students. We are also very lucky to learn from World and Australian Champions at Achieve!
